Shear Rib® roof panel is a direct screw down metal roof panel that attaches directly to the structure, creating a diaphragm in the roof
system and giving it shear values while concealing the attachment fasteners. Shear Rib® has double ribs, which astronomically inceases the uplift and load characteristics which are an important factor in the high wind areas, such as Miami Dade County and surrounding areas. Shear
Rib® is attached to the structure directly, via screws, and then covered with a protective cap, utilizing the posi-lock
cap system, creating no exposed fasteners, which ensures the weatherproofing of the structure.
The typical standing seam roof panel is considered to be a "floating" system because the panel attaches
indirectly to the building with a clip and thus can not be used in the calculations to determine shear values of a structure.
